Stick to the root!

By Grand Master Frank Schneider

Mhhh…just witnessed again how our martial arts community is driven by “We are the original source, we are better!”, money business, political differences between organisations and so on.

Believe me, if you would come down to the core point of “our” martial arts, ask yourself if you are really prepared and have a chance outside by regular training with partners who hit back and not going and falling without any resistance of the body in order to show that a technique looking proper or even work. Stick to your roots, train hard, show honor and respect to every practioner by following the asian etiquette and line of command, but be foremost respectful to the real warriors between us. With respect and honor to you all!

Taekwon-Do is ONE Tree with many branches.

By Grand Master Benjamin Kissling

Taekwondo is ONE Tree but with many branches!

Honestly this is one of the main problems in the martial arts world. Many people want to be glorified with ranks and certifications. But when it comes to sharing information with others. It stops. Very sorry for my very abrupt response. Just tired of seeing so many martial arts people posting pictures of awards, certifications and being glorified for what???
What are they doing to bring the honor and dignity of the art back to the world.
Nothing ! Sorry I don’t need wall paper certificates. And is absolutely no disrespect to you or anyone else.
Truth is the truth. It’s great to be recognized by your brothers and sisters in the arts.
But stop and think where we need to place the effort.
Many of us in the martial arts should be so focused and proud and connected with each other regardless of Taekwondo or any other style. Sharing ideas to inspire and motivate. Bring awareness to the world. Yes I am very old school, very rough and straightforward.
60s,70s,80s martial arts events were happening just about every single weekend and month. Now most competitions are in other countries.
We wonder why the martial arts world is changing.
Events don’t have to be about thousands of people attending.
The Father of Taekwondo always had one motto or phrase: “Taekwondo is One Tree” Look at the logo?
But many Branches

Honestly my fellow readers, this is my personal opinion.
Everyone in business martial arts or not wants to get rich and make money. But be honest with yourself and others are we a fast food style of martial arts? Just like the McDojos out there?

So many people want to teach martial arts and make money.
Great unfortunately the product being sold is poor quality and a disgrace to the Father of Taekwondo and to the true Masters

I would rather give lessons that I know that when a student walks away he or she will know that they are real.
Let me put it this way.
Very few people especially many of the great elite famous martial artists.Don’t know what to do if a attacker comes with a real knife or gun.
Very different in real life on the streets then in school.
I have seen Black Belts from very famous schools get beat up so bad. Why always a reflection of the teachers

Believe me not many people will agree with me and that’s okay not to agree. But the truth is the truth. I see schools and I will not mention the name here. They guarantee a Black Belt in 2 years.
Instant gratification.
And get killed in the first altercation.
Self defense doesn’t always mean physical harm or fighting.
The mind is more powerful than the physical force sometimes times.
That’s exactly what the 2 charts are for?
I am a ex police officer and military trainer Special Forces.
And I am old and I don’t play games with anyone. And when I teach it’s the same way.

I don’t do it necessarily for money I do it for the love of teaching people who really want to learn.
It’s not a sport or self defense.
It’s a way of life!
